The black garden ant, otherwise known just ‘black ant’ is one of the most common ant species found. They are a very active, fast moving ant, who are as equally adaptable as they are tough. Thriving in a wide range of areas , the black ant lives in large colonies. consisting of a queen and many workers.

Black garden ants eat anything from leftovers, soft fruits, seeds, to other small insects. They can also frequently be seen farming honeydew farmed from aphids around gardens and vegetation.
